UFO (OVNI en anglais) est un groupe de hard rock anglais formé en 1969. UFO est généralement considéré comme un groupe de transition entre le hard rock des années 70 et le heavy metal de la New Wave Of British Heavy Metal.
À ce titre, le groupe a eu une forte influence sur la scène metal des années 80. Il a par exemple été cité comme référence par Steve Harris d'Iron Maiden, Kirk Hammett de Metallica, Dave Mustaine de Megadeth ou encore Frank Hannon de Tesla, entre autres.
